Brief Author Bio:

I've been writing as long as I knew how to hold a pencil, and making up stories even longer than that. I've spent the last four years of my life working in some capacity or other with kids--children's department at Barnes & Noble, now Sylvan--so I read a lot of YA lit and am often troubled by the dearth of good strong female heroines in recent kids'/teen fantasy--too often they get relegated to the role of (extremely awesome) sidekick or their whole purpose in life is to find a boyfriend.

Aside from writing and reading, I watch too much TV and love movies--basically storytelling again, in any form. I love to travel too, but I can't afford to do much of it anymore, so I have to make do with traveling in my imagination. Which I don't really mind so much, because you can't really visit Narnia or Oz or Atlantis any other way. ;-)

Favorite genres are science fiction/fantasy, but I also love a good Golden Age mystery and will occasionally even stoop (I say very tongue in cheek, no offense intended) to reading *gasp* regular fiction.

Synopsis: Dreamslayer

Set in an alternate reality where magic unexpectedly returned to the world towards the end of World War II, Dreamslayer is the story of John Gideon, an ordinary man whose life is thrown into chaos when he discovers in his forties that he possesses a rare and dangerous mage gift. On the run from the powerful Guilds who control the daily lives of most magi, his path crosses with two sisters: Kendra and Diana Conroy. Kendra is a foreseer, a precognitive who believes John has a role to play in the future of magekind. Diana is healer with latent foresight and an agent for the BMA (Bureau of Mage Affairs) who believes the only way for magekind to have any future is for those with the deadliest gifts to be kept under Guild control. That worldview will be challenged when she is assigned to track John, not knowing that her sister is just as determined to see him make his escape, or that he is far from the deadly sociopath the Guild has painted him to be.
