Excerpt: A 21st Century American in Regency England

First paragraph:
Time is a relative thing, it bends and flows and twists into peoples lives. It was once a simple thing, sand in an hourglass to represent the passage of time. We all work by it, set our endeavors by it. I used to think time was a made up think by us humans, but I have since learn the truth. Time is a railway waiting for us to climb aboard, but what if we want to make a return trip? . . .

Elsewhere:
. . . “I am being bold, but I have come to find you most . . . enchanting, Miss Ryder,” he told me, and his hand came up to my hair. He admire a lock with a fond look, and I felt my stomach tighten. I felt entranced by his gaze as he touched my hair and then put his hand on my jaw. My eyes closed automatically as our lips met mutually in a sweet kiss, and for a moment my entire body gave a shuttering sigh. It was then that I finally realized have deeply involved I was, and it was dangerous. I was in love with him, beyond anything I had ever imagined, beyond my own understanding . . .
