I passed on my gossip without reserve. The goat boy, after all, had nobody to pass it on to. He would mull over it throughout the week, and think up new things he had to ask me come Saturday. He remembered most every word I spoke, which would be flattering if I cared. But he was Glenda’s match, and I was merely the go-between for the dimwitted yet star crossed lovers. What a wretched position to be in.
