Synopsis: The Windrunner's Charge
(Space Opera)
Aglairon Ninth is the last space station where the factions of humans and aliens meet to discuss laws and life in the galaxy. Derinchell Kalizarin is a Zamparsi envoy from the Order of the White Storm, a group of fighting monks who believe in bringing knowledge to all. He spends most of his days practicing and chatting to the huge AI of the station which oversees everything.
The attack comes as a complete surprise to all, the station is destroyed, the AI barely saved by a zealous mechanic. The ships disappear shortly after, leaving behind a mystery and huge amounts of debris, the ultimate peace treaty broken.
Stranded in space, in a small badly-equipped craft, Derinchell thinks that he and the other people with him are going to die. This turns out not to be the case, when another unknown ship appears. "The Windrunner" can be read from the sigils on its side. They land, desperate enough to fight the crew of an entire Alliance warship, only to find a ragtag group of individuals captaining a ship which disappeared mysteriously 36 years ago.
Meanwhile, Revan Methis, a private contractor is sent to investigate a secret facility of a large medicinal corporation only to find the staff dead of heavy radiation and in one of the clone pools a young man who seems to have been created only moments ago.
Who attacked the station and why? Where has the Windrunner been? How did the radiation kill all the people in the lab, but leave the clone untouched? These and many more are the questions our heroes need to answer if they are to save the galaxy from a menace that has been preparing for a longer time than anyone would care to imagine.
