Excerpt: Legends from the Iland

Well, this could function as both synopsis and excerpt. Sort of. Maybe. Actually, never mind I said that:

• So the girls sneak into the house, into Eldric’s quarters, and then search like crazy for the sealskin. Unfortunately, they are caught by the evil butler (well, maybe not evil. Nasty is a better word for it). Only, PLOT QUESTION: does the nasty butler catch both girls, or just Shelley? I’m thinking it might be better for it to just be Shelley, because then she’s the only one who gets blamed—maybe she’s selfless and lets Lucia go free….OH MY GOODNESS I JUST GOT ANOTHER IDEA!!! :O Okay, okay, so here’s how it goes: Shelley is caught. The uncle comes back, etc, etc, showdown time blah blah blah, (you’ll see in the following bullet.) Actually, never mind. Let’s do this bullet by bullet. For now, all you need to know is that The butler catches Shelley, many thanks to his annoying dog (PLOT QUESTION: How to get the dog from finding Lucia as well? Does Shelley do something to distract it? Does Lucia just find a super good hiding place?)
• At the castle, the quartet (you know, Eldric, Siobhan, Thomas, and Maggie) are greeted by the nasty butler dude (what’s his name again?...) dangling Shelley by her cuffs. Nasty butler dude (hey, nasty butler dude will do far more to boost my word count than his real name, whatever his real name may be)…so, Nasty butler dude reports to Eldric all of Shelley’s sneaky activities in Eldric’s quarters of the castle, and Eldric nearly blows a gasket. Again.
