In general, the town was a mess. Cleaning and other cleanliness related chores had been abandoned and men had even boarded up their houses and gone to reside in the tavern, sleeping off a night’s drinking with a heavy head on the table.
The barman however was not against his establishment being used as an unofficial hotel, for on top of the Delvedgers he also had the two battalions of knights, but he just smiled at the crowds and slipped the extra gold coins into his purse, waiting for the end of the hostilities so he could travel to Falacion and spend his newly acquired wealth.
