Brief Author Bio:

I decided to be a writer after a school newspaper project I did somewhere between 1st and 3rd grade. I originally wanted to be a journalist, but soon figured out that I enjoyed writing made-up things rather than real life facts. I started working on my first book when I was 9. It was titled 'The Adventures of Mary Meerkat". I later on dabbled with a story I called "Alexa". "Chronicles of Kiera," "White Rose Wanderers," and "Mindworld" were other projects I worked on, in addition to writing fan-fics for Redwall. Many of the characters -- both personalities and names -- and adventures from these early books carried over into my series involving the Sentinels of Mysera. NaNoWriMo helped add the 3rd book to the series last year, and this year it will add the 4th!

Synopsis: Isle of Ames

When the infamous assassin of Mysera, Thanatos the Dark One, found the purple-eyed baby, it was during the middle of the blizzard. Though many questions and mysteries surrounded the child he chose to call Derica, there were never any answers. All that changed with the arrival of many purple-eyed mages. Derica, now an adult, is taken away by the Ames Mages, who claim she is one of the three most powerful mages known to the Ames. Thanatos must chase the Ames over land and sea to the magically protected Isle of the Ames in order to gain back the girl he views as his daughter. However, the choice is Derica's alone. Will she stay with the family she never knew and learn to use the power she didn't know she had? Will she return with the man who raised her and continue to live life as the apprentice of an assassin?

"Derica is a remarkable girl. She will do many wonderful things with her life. There is only one that that may keep her from doing all that she could. That is you, Thanatos. Despite all the potential she has, she is hindered her from all she could do, because you stand in her way. You are not helping Derica by hovering over her like a hawk. Let her decided her own future and stop trying to steer her where YOU wish to go. It's not fair for her and you know it."
