Favorite music: For inspiration, Badly Drawn Boy, Red Hot Chili Peppers, U2, Wilbury Jam... pretty much anything. For actual writing, Einaudi and Sibelius. But not at the same time.

Non-noveling interests: Archaeology: reading, writing essays, attending lectures, mucking about with soil for two hours on a Wednesday morning (yay!), doing fun stuff in museums, waiting till I can next get out and use my trowel in earnest. Singing. Linguistics. Cycling like a lunatic. Being a chapel warden. Drinking tea. Wishing the fridges in our kitchen would start working again...
