I bundled up quickly before helping Irma with her coat and boots. "Up?" she asked.
"What, Irma?" I teased.
"Up, Sheldon, up!" she said, shaking her little hands above her head. I put her winter hat on her head and picked her up. "Thank you, Sheldon." she said. I hugged her tightly as we walked across the yard to the garage. It was late November and very cold. The snow whipped around us as it fell and I held Irma's face to my scarf to protect her cheeks from stinging snowflakes. "Brrrr," she whispered. "Brrr," we whispered back to her.
