Excerpt: Knitting (and Purling) Together
"Come on, momma. Up out of the car." Finn reached out a hand to help lift Emma up out of the passenger side of the car.
"Oh, God, Finn, I swear your car gets lower every time I sit in it." She said wearily.
Finn laughed. "My car isn't getting lower, your center of gravity is."
Emma rubbed her swollen belly fondly. "Well I'm taking up space for two, so I get extra gravity." She let Finn carry her shoulder bag into the knitting shop that they owned together.
"You also get extra glow." Finn said as he locked the car and followed her inside. They lived above the shop in a small apartment that they shared. "I think your hair keeps getting redder each month."
"Yeah and I get more freckles right alongside all the stretchmarks too." Emma sat back down in the comfy chair near the front of the shop. She looked kind of tired, but she looked happy. She did kind of look like a blimp at seven months pregnant, but she had beautiful long curly red hair and ivy green eyes that always seemed to have a slightly mischievous glint in them.
