Favorite novels: American Gods, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter (all of them), Wicked, a whole bunch more but if I kept going I'd get to 50K words without writing a word of a story.

Favorite writers: Neil Gaiman, Tamora Pierce, JRR Tolkien, Joss Whedon, Russell T. Davies, Gregory Maguire, Margo Lanagan, Catherynne M. Valente

Favorite music: I've got such ecclectic tastes in music that it sort of depends on the part of the book and my mood that day.

Non-noveling interests: I have an addiction to certain TV shows. At the moment Torchwood is at the top of my list, but Supernatural is still way up there along with Doctor Who and Buffy and Firefly will hold all time greatest spots. Leverage is awesome and I love the Big Bang Theory. Yeah, my non noveling interests involve watching tv and reading fanfiction. I'm a Nerd!

Brief Author Bio:

This is my third NaNo and will hopefully be my third win!

I'm awesome this year! No seriously. Last year, my computer died in September and I couldn't replace it until November. I was therefore working on a really crappy painfully slow old computer in my bedroom at my parents house. This year, I have two computers. My main desktop (the replacement of the dead one from last year) and I got myself a mini. I also have my own apartment now that I share with my awesome roomie and fellow NaNo-er. I have a feeling that despite living together I may see very little of her in November.

Synopsis: In Her Head

Liz day dreams. When a guidance counselor suggests she start writing down the things in her day dreams to gain some focus, she seems to lose her grip on reality. Until she realizes that her day dreams may have been more than that.

The Beginning and The Reason For The Beginning

It was a dark and stormy night. Yeah, no, that’s not really how I’m going to start this. So, my therapist, all right, that’s a lie. I can’t even tell my journal the truth, maybe I should see a therapist. Maybe I’m a pathological liar or delusional or something else that requires professional help.

All right, starting again. Maybe I ought to put a date down or at least separate entries or something.

Maybe I’ll just give things titles. I just put a title at the top of the page now. I’m really glad note book paper has that really wide margin up there. I end up titling things a lot and often after the fact.

Anyway, here’s me starting for real this time. My name is Elizabeth. I go by Liz. I’ve tried to convince my family to call me a plethora of other variations of that name, however, has anyone else noticed that the names you give yourself never stick, but the ones that others give you are like super glued onto your existence for all eternity. Even if the name is boring, or cruel, thank God I’ve never been given a mean nickname… to my face. I’m liking Liz better now though. For a while, I really wanted to have a weird name that made people think my parents were hippies. It would be a great icebreaker in any situation.

The Icebreaker About Not My Name

“Oh hi, I’m Blah Blah Blah!”

“Hi, I’m Tree Star!”

“Wow, isn’t that an interesting name, you don’t hear that one very often.”

“Well, my parents named me Liz, but I watched The Land Before Time way to much as a small child and my parents legally changed it to Tree Star”

~*~*~

I broke away there, I have to admit, I’ll probably do that again, but I’ll also give you clever little titles and decorative page breaks so you will see it coming and know when it’s ended. Anyway, back to my name. I’m less bored with Liz now that 30 Rock is on. Tina Fey is one of my heroes and she’s made Liz a famous name. A couple of my friends even call me Lemon sometimes.

Other important facts before I get too far into this, I’m fifteen and an average student at an average high school in the suburbs of Chicago.
