Non-noveling interests: Movies, talking to my friends, genocides history, serial killers stories (ok, I know I'm a creepy b*tch. But the violent aspect of human behavior really interests me. It's fascinating to learn just what are we capable of. It seems we're more inclined to waste time and energy in an effort to destroy ourselves, than to improve life quality), newspapers and photoshop.

Synopsis:

Squeeze the trigger, a voice whispered, somewhere in the back of his mind. Do it, get it over with, the voice insisted. Every cell in his body agreed with the persistent command.

He wanted to do it. Wanted to pull the trigger, feel the kick of the gun pushing him backwards a little and watch as the other man's skull spilt in half, blood exploding in every direction. His right hand trembled, but his gaze remained focused. This wasnt the time for hesitation.

He's right there. What are you waiting for?, his brain screamed. That was it. He was going to put an end to this.

"I dont mean to pop your bubble or anything," the man kneeling on the mud said, conversationally. "but isn't your wife going home in an hour? It's not like you have the whole night."

Jared sighed in annoyance. "I should have gagged you." He lowers his gun.

"Then this lovely conversation wouldn't happen. And I know just depressed you'd get if you didn't hear my sweet voice for the last time." He frowned, as if considering his statement. "Well," he added. "assuming this is the last time we'll ever speak to each other."

Jared glared. "This is the fourth time this year that I've cornered you. Are you even trying, anymore?" He uncocked his gun and placed it safely in his belt holster.

Leonard smirked, seeming rather satisfied with himself. "I tend to miss you too much if I stay away for too long." He tried to get up, but his hands were bound behind his back and he nearly stumbled forward. Jared instinctively held his arm to steady him and rolled his eyes at himself. Since they both knew he wasn't going to kill him that night, he decided to help him up. "Are you giving me a ride back to the city?"

"Hell, no." Jared spat back. "I'm untying you, and that's against my better judgement."

"How very noble of you." Leonard rolled his eyes. "Geez. I'll pay for the gas, for the Christ's sake."

The other man counted back to ten. "You're my sworn enemy. I can't give you a ride. You're supposed to have a bullet in your head with my name on it. I'm not doing you any favors!"

"Oh, yeah? Then I suppose that rule that doesn't count when Lissa needs to be picked up at the airport and you're too busy with paperwork to do that, right?" Leonard argued, as Jared cut the ropes binding him.

Jared didn't know how old Leonard was, but he was sure the kid hadn't reached his mid-twenties yet. Though, he could be wrong. Leonard had pale skin and round face, which could make him look younger. The ever-lit up brown eyes and dark hair sticking up in every direction didn't exactly add to a respectable look either.

Standing with his arms crossed over his chest and hips cocked, a stubborn look on his face made him look even younger. Why was he even arguing with this kid?

"I am not driving you back to the city. I don't care if you have to whore your way out of here, but I'm not taking you back."

He turned his back to him, climbed in his truck and started the engine. The younger man bent over, clearly looking for pebbles to throw at the windshield. Jared made sure to leave before he found any.
