Synopsis: Henry's Elephant
A book about the making of an independent movie based on a children’s book about King Henry III of England receiving an Elephant from the King of France in the year 1255.
Excerpt: Henry's Elephant
So, like seeing an elephant for the first time, in an era without reading, or TV and people got their news from each other, and every day was about staying fed, and warm and dry. To see an elephant must have been absolutely mind altering. The Polar bear, maybe a little more real to them, since they had seen bears, and the big cats, I am not sure but they used lots of Lions on their standards so they were used to seeing Big Cats. But an elephant, they must have had no concept of what it was, or where it came from.
