Brief Author Bio: This is my second year attempting NaNoWriMo. Hopefully this year, now that I am no longer a university student trying to study for/write midterms, I will be able to complete it!!! I love to write stories in all kinds of genres, and this year's NaNoWriMo will be my first attempt at writing kids' literature. We'll see how that goes! I have to admit I have a different strategy this time around... I have a strategy this time! Last year I found out about NaNoWriMo about a month before it started, and decided to fly by the seam of my pants. I finally realised that outlining (gasp! what is that?!?) would allow me to be more focused in my writing, and, if nothing else, would help me know where to go next when I'm completely stuck! I don't usually outline when I write, so this is also a first... I'm really excited to get started... Let's go November 1st, get here!!! :D Good luck to all my fellow writers! |

Synopsis: Kirk the Jerk and Smelly Mely - Adventures in the Attic

Melissandre (Mely) and Kirk are cousins who are spending the summer with their eccentric grandmother, known as G-ma. They don't get along, and when the pranking goes too far, their punishment is to clean the attic together. They find a lot of crazy things in G-ma's attic, including a magic quill that brings them into the past, all the way back to their parents' youth. When they meet Kirk's mom - the younger version - it sets off a series of events that could alter life as they know it. Will they be able to fix things in time to make sure the present remains unchanged?
