Excerpt: Creep
I shift in my seat- I’ve always found airplane chairs extremely uncomfortable, and after riding in one for hours on end, this fact is prominent in my mind. Everything seems too stiff and hard, too matte and dull, too clean yet dirty at the same time. It's one big uncomfortable skin that I can’t crawl out of.
For the first time since I could remember, I suddenly feel like sketching. I wish I had thought to put one of my small sketchbooks into my carry on bag, but since it had been a while since the drawing bug bit me, I decided it would be better to bring a smaller bag and not be weighed down by the book. Regretting the decision, I instead had no choice but to sit and wallow in the nervous feeling beginning to churn in my stomach. My life was about to change in a million different ways.
