Brief Author Bio: Been writing since I was a kid but enjoy drawing and painting just as much. Have written non-fiction articles for weekly newspapers and astrology columns for magazines. I am a member of RWA & EAA. Getting to the age where I should be doing what I want to do instead of what I have to do, so when (not if, when) I become a published fiction writer, it's time to hang up the boring 9 to 5! http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1442176954 Thanks for reading my bio, best wishes to all NaNo participants. Synopsis: tentative: A Rainbow in Chinatown
A story set in 1870 New York City, involving a woman who escaped a life of slavery with her son in a ship from New Orleans, and a man born in China who witnessed his parents slaughtered and siblings kidnapped during the Opium War in Canton. The man saved her son who was suffering from the plague, with the help of a Native American who used roots and herbs to tend people the hospitals refused to treat. He fell in love with her, admired her strength and perseverence then gave her what she needed most -- a future and a man she could finally trust.
