Cross Dimensions
an excerpt

*excerpt is a result of just freakin' winging it*

"Your Highness, if you would please stop struggling," a maid pleaded, as she tightened the corset. Another maid was busy choosing accessories that would complement the attire. After the princess was (rather forcefully) dressed into an elegant velvet green gown, had his make-up put on and his hair styled, and adorned with necklaces, earrings and various other trinkets, he was then made to stand in front of the mirror so that he may see and hopefully recognize himself.

Michel grimaced at his own reflection. He had to give credit to the maids for actually making him look feminine and the dress really did look rather pretty, he was obviously not comfortable with the whole thing. "Remind me why I have to wear this again," he pleaded.

A chuckle can be heard from across the room, where Raiza, head of his royal guard was overseeing the whole thing. "Well, your highness," she said. "You don't have to wear that all the time. You do have the freedom to choose what you want to wear. On the other hand, in the same way that it would be silly to fight a war in your undergarments, royal protocol demands that during royal functions a princess must dress like a princess." She walked towards the mirror to peer at his reflection. After nodding in approval of the Michel's outfit, she then stepped in front of him to look at herself. She straightened up her shoulder armor, tugged on her cape a bit and stepped back. She smiled at the princess. "Besides," she added. "Our beloved queen is a man and he seems perfectly fine with being in a dress."

This didn't convince Michel at all, and he had come up with many retorts in his head. The queen looked too happy in his dress. He shuddered at the idea at how someday he might be the same. "I can see that," he said after finally having chosen a retort. "But there's no such thing as a drag princess."

"There's no need to put it that way," Raiza said. "Just be a man about it. It's not like we're conspiring to turn you into a homosexual or whatever those people you lived with call it. You were born into this world a princess, and on certain occasions must perform his or her duties, starting with the proper clothing."

She clicked her heels together and bowed at him, and the maids curtsied. "We shall see you on tonight's royal dinner, your highness," she said. "Good luck." She and the maids then stood up and left the room, leaving the princess confused, unsatisfied, and wondering what he has gotten himself into.

*So much for winging it... >.>
