The sun of Ru-La 12 was pale, cold, and distant. Often it was wondered how of all the 17 planets in the Ru-La system number 12, theoretically out of the habitable band of space, was the one with life. Intense geothermal and volcanic activity around the equator kept the planet warm however, but made for a very unpredictable climate. It was the cold, distant sun of Ru-La that Darien Longcaster now contemplated from the balcony of the office of the security chief for the entire City of the Hyena Monsters.
