Brief Author Bio:

I have attempted, but never completed the elusive Nano word-count. I was a day late finishing Nano "04. I started late, so I was pretty stoked to have finished even a day late. I skipped a few years and tried to start last year. I even went to my first write- in. Although only one other person showed up, I was really excited and motivated from the experience. I then had toe surgery which was supposed to be just a simple thing and turned out into a horrible recovery including a week of of vicodin and unmentionable sickness. I was knocked out of it last year for health reasons. This year I have again started late (five days late!) but I have more work breaks this month than the average joe and I hope to make it to the finish line! Wish me luck! I hope to meet some of ya'll at the write ins! I want to go to more this year!!!
BTW- Kerouac-ky was an unfortunate name choice for me because in '04 I had just read On the Road and was thinking I wanted to write as speedily as he did. I was also enamored by the beatnik culture of the 60's.
While still appreciative of the idea of beatniks, I sort of regret the name since he isn't my favorite author. And, it sounds a little pretentious. I still like the play on the word "wacky". But, I chose it, and some on the forums may remember me from that, so why change now? But, as usual, I will be writing in my 'revolutionary cap' and maybe somtimes with my fluffy ducky pen. Although I feel like a wannabe author, I anticipate enjoying playing the part of author sitting in cafes writing brilliant prose with other fellow authors very much.
