Synopsis: Mayve & the MirrorWorld (working title)
"The Queens of Acirema believe so strongly that they literally give life to their kingdom. (Queendom. Whatever.) Their subjects belief in the Queen's power sustains the Queen's belief and the life of the kingdom.
Acirema was attacked by the Wild that borders it. The Queen gave the last of her energy to drive off the attackers and create a protection for Acirema's borders. Her newborn daughter, not yet known to the public, was smuggled to safety by the King. The princess was far too young to safely act as a conduit of belief for the kingdom yet. The king and several of his faithful servants/friends keep the Queen's death a secret.
The kingdom's belief in the queen keeps it from dying, but without royal energy, it stagnates and eventually starts to decay. And now the Borders are fading, and the Wild is stirring again...
And on the other side of the looking glass, in a land called America, a young girl who knows nothing of magic or destiny is busy chasing pigeons in the park.”
Excerpt: Mayve & the MirrorWorld (working title)
A tree is a tree is a tree, unless you know the secret of how to look...
“I can open it,” she said...“It’s all in how you look at things,” Mayve said quietly. “A door is a door is a door, but it doesn’t have to look like one.
