Today, the maids sounded happier than usual…

‘Why?’ That was what went on in Catherine’s mind as she blinked her sleepiness away, slowly sitting up and looked at her maid humming happily while drawing the curtains open, causing Catherine to squint her eyes at the sudden onslaught of light.
“You seem chipper than usual today, Anna.”

“Of course, my lady. It’s because today is the day that you graduate. Now, hurry up or you’ll be late,” she said before she bowed and walked out of the room.

That’s right, today is the day that she graduates from high school. Today, is also her birthday…

Catherine sighed but forced herself to get out of the bed and get ready for her graduation. Why? Because…

The ride to school was rather uneventful. The ceremony itself was as what Catherine had expected. With Kenzo, Mayumi and Shinji getting the top honours and Kenzo’s hoard of fangirls crying their eyes out during his speech. Honestly, even when it is obvious that Kenzo and Mayumi are dating, they’ve decided to be oblivious to the fact and continue to tirelessly chase after him. During the graduation song… Ok, she did cry a little – no, a lot – when they were singing it. She couldn’t help it!

“Cat~ Cat!”

She was snapped out of her thoughts when she felt something heavy bump into her side. Turning her head to see what it was, she frowned. “Tsara…”

“Hey, it’s not my fault that you didn’t hear me the first time,” Tsara gave her a toothy grin before linking their arms together. “Anyways, Kye asked me to snap you out of your thoughts. He doesn’t want you to fall while we’re walking up the stairs.”

Catherine couldn’t stop herself from blushing. Tsara… one of these days she’s gonna get it!

“I’ll bear that in mind.”

“Good.” Kaito said with something akin to satisfaction in his tone.

Okay, that was rather unexpected… She wasn’t aware that he was listening in on their conversation. She hoped that he didn’t catch her blushing. She never thought that she would be grateful for the poor lighting in this particular area. Her attention returned to Tsara as the slightly shorter girl began to whine about not arriving at the rooftop yet. True, they have been climbing the stairs for quite sometime now and it didn’t take this long to reach the rooftop.

‘Unless…’ Catherine’s eyes widened once she saw the door.

“Kenzo, don’t!” She cried out but it was too late. The door was already open by then and before she knew it, they were all being sucked in by the portal to the other world.

As she had always feared, today was indeed the day…
