Chapter 1 - Extraordinary

When it comes to common names, Jane Doe is the name. It is hard to find a name that’s more ordinary than that, but for Jane Diane Doe, the only ordinary thing was precisely her name.
You could see her from across the street and you’d know she’s not an ordinary person. It is kind of hard to describe her, but some of her acquaintances have used the words “extravagant”, “bizarre” and, more often, “weird”. And they seem to be fitting; she is all those things most of the time. She doesn’t know why and, of course, she can’t help it.
She dresses in a way that few people would. Barely anyone would have the courage to combine clothes the way she does.
She speaks of random and stupid topics most of the time and seems to show limited interest in the world’s current affairs—now, she does know what is going on most of the time, but she likes to act like she didn’t. She likes to be clueless.
She tends to do unexpected things right out of the blue, like sing a song at the top of her lungs in the middle of a quiet and peaceful park or hug a complete stranger just because she feels like it.
But she is not really crazy. She’s just different. Very different.
But those things are not the reason why she is a special person. She happens to have a secret, you see; one she’s very proud of. So proud, indeed, that she’d gladly tell the entire world about it if she could.
But she’s not an idiot. She is well aware of the fact that a lot of people would do anything to take advantage of her gift. They would use her no matter what.
Either way her secret was something she was willing to share, always keeping a certain air of mystery, with some of her closest friends.
Now, what is this extraordinary secret that makes Jane so special, you may be wondering. Well, that is exactly what this story is about.
This is the story of a girl with the most ordinary name and the most extraordinary life.
