Synopsis: Burned By Bill

Find a kid. Try to adopt him, without much luck. Find your apartment burned to the ground. What a day this is turning out to be, huh?

Excerpt: Burned By Bill

“Oh shit.” I said as I looked up at the burning building that use to house my apartment.

“Well this just makes for a really bad day.”

“I’m not sure it’s that bad of a day. I mean I found a kid that I want to take care of.”

“And then you went to the crappiest adoption center I’ve ever seen and was forced to pay 2,000 dollars to get the papers that say that you ‘officially’ adopted this kid. And now your apartment is burning to the ground… in fact I’m not sure that this is all a coincidence.”

“What?”

“I mean who finds a kid, gets roped into adopting him, goes to the “only adoption center in the area,” and then tries to head home only to find it on fire in one day?”

“I guess I’m just that special.”
