Excerpt: Travel

So, I’ve got to get up tomorrow morning at about four AM, say my goodbyes and catch a bus up to Lusaka. I’ve got a new pair of shoes, thank goodness, even though they are four years old (yeah, that’s right, not only are his feet as big as mine when he’s only twelve, but they’ve been that size for four years). I’ve got a bunch of bananas and some microwave porridge to eat on the bus, and we’re going to have to go over that thirty kilometres of potholes all over again.

Sounds difficult, but I just survived a day in the Zambian markets, dripping wet with no shoes. I can do anything.
