Elena climbed out of the rental car, blinking as the sunlight blinded her for a moment. She looked around the parking lot, and saw no one that was out of the ordinary. She walked to the back of the car, and pulled her suitcases from the back. Elena sighed, upset that she had to do this alone, but closed the trunk, and locked the car. She walked into the hotel, not noticing that she was being watched.

Harper was angry. Why had Holly and Hunter insisted on coming back to Houston? There was nothing here for them but bad memories. Suddenly, he saw something flash in the evening sun in his peripheral view, and turned to see what it was. A girl was getting out a car, which was clearly a rental. She seemed upset, and disoriented by the bright light. He watched as she pulled a suitcase from the trunk and locked the car. He smiled as she walked into the building. Maybe coming back to Houston wasn’t such a bad idea after all.

Aliss banged on the walls of her cells, howling with anger. The guard, Molly Silver, just grinned in her face.
“Aliss, dear, please stop that. We wouldn’t want you to hurt your pretty little hands. Face it, you’re not getting out. You’re parade of insanity is over, and not even the “Mad Hatter” is going to let you out.” Silver was smug, and gloating over Aliss’s defeat.
Aliss glared at Silver. “Not even you can keep me locked up forever, Molly Silver. You will slip up sometime. And when you do, I will be out of here so fast; you won’t be able to believe it.”
Silver smirked. “Doubt it. I’ve spent years training specifically to keep you in this cell. I’m not going to slip up.”
“Really? Well, what about Elena? She might slip up, when you two switch shifts. And when either of you do, and believe me, you will, I will get out of this cell and wreak havoc on your lives!” Aliss was ready to do whatever she had to do to get out of that cell.
Silver sighed. “Completely idle threat.” The two girls stood there, glaring at each other, in a complete deadlock.
