Synopsis: Mind Crumbling
Constance Woodham has had a normal life. She's had the normal dysfunctional family, and has faced death like the majority of the world. Not to mention that through all this, she has always been the best person she could be. But when faced with death one more time, what will Constance do? Or, better yet, where will she go?

Excerpt: Mind Crumbling
“What did you tell her, Lindon?” Jay asked, his nostrils flaring.
“Nothing.”
Lindon ran a hand through his blond hair in exasperation and Constance stared. He was missing two fingers.
“Liar, Liar!” Violet taunted.
“Shut up, Vi! No one wants to hear your childish song!” Lind yelled.
“What did you tell her?” Jay repeated.
Constance cleared her throat and glanced at Lindon. “He didn’t tell me anything, but I want to know what’s going on. What do you want?”
Jay took a glance at Lindon and Violet and turned a steely gaze upon Constance. “We can’t tell you, but I can promise one thing. We won’t hurt you. You’ll be safe.”
Safe. Safety.
“Can you hide me?” Constance asked, her words slurring as she rushed to get the sentence out.
“What?” Violet asked.
“Can you hide me?” She asked once more. She couldn't let her family find her. She was done.
Jay gave a crooked smile. “Trust me. Where we’re taking you, we’d have to hide you anyway.”
“All right,” Constance choked out as she forced a grin. “Hide me.”
Violet gave a sweet smile, and put an arm around Constance’s shoulders comfortingly. “Don’t worry, this’ll work out great.”
Constance took one last look at Lindon, who hadn't given any show of gratitude for the lie Constance had told.
He kept his face straight ahead, grabbed the hood of his cloak, and pulled it up over his blond surfer hair.
Constance took a deep breath. What the hell was she getting herself into?
