Where was he? Vladen Hayes knew the thief was around here somewhere. He wouldn’t let the fool escape him if he could help it. Another bounty had done the same thing to him and he refused to let it happen again. The bastard Generation 8 Super Soldier had taken him on a near year-long hunt without success. It cost him a great deal in frustration as he chased the killer all over the quadrant. Worse though, it cost him the woman he loved.

Cassidy Russell, a lovely, temptress of a woman stirred his blood just to think of her, even now. One call from Ulric Vonner, his boss, took him from her just as he’d been about to claim her as his forever. Now, he didn’t know if she would allow him anywhere near her. His leaving her that way hurt her, he knew. He only wished he could think of a way to make up for his actions enough to convince himself to go find her and try again.
