Synopsis: Iyo - a novel of ancient Japan
It was said to come from the Western Lands, across the Yellow Sea, an emperor’s seal carved from gold, the Great Seal of Wei, said to bestow both power and prosperity to the one who possesses it.
Iyo knows neither.
Instead, the Great Seal hangs like a demon-stone from a ribbon around her neck, placed there by the queen’s most-trusted councilor as Iyo stumbles awake that night, the old man telling her that she must leave. Leave her bed, leave her home, leave everything that she has ever known because the queen, her mother, is dead.
Grieving, afraid, angry, Iyo vows to uncover the dark conspiracy behind the assassination of the queen while keeping the Great Seal safe from a faceless enemy that would dare anything to obtain it and claim the kingdom of Wa, land of the Rising Sun.
