Synopsis: Say Goodnight
December 1815. A group of family and friends are gathering for a house party: brothers and sisters, husbands and wives, parents and children, cousins, friends, and neighbours. And a carriage also accident brings an injured traveller among them.
But is this mysterious traveller who she claims to be? Was her accident really an accident? How is she connected to the series of accidents affecting the household?
Will the group's aristocratic host overcome his tortured memories of Waterloo? Will his sister succeed in rescuing her marriage? Will his painfully shy brother capture the heart of the vicar's daughter? Will his cousin escape the clutches of a determined and ambitious matchmaking mama and her avaricious daughter?
Will the staff ever succeed in getting dinner down the draughty corridors and onto the table before it’s completely cold?
Will I work out the answers to these questions by the end of November? And will I come up with anything to put in this book that isn't a cliché?
