Synopsis: The Four Wives of Lt. Shi
Commander Shi Si looks forward to finishing his post on a colony world and returning home to his wife on earth. The womb constructed on his leg will be removed, he will bear a suitable number of children from the genetic database, finish his scientific work with his team, and return home with his pension and honors for a long happy retirement.
However the experience of raising children with the three men on his team will change him in ways he could never have guessed.

Skyman First Lieutenant Aloysius Shi did not like the look of the planet the moment he set eyes on it. He gave the ship's Chemist the look you give a friend on entering a restaurant you're not sure of. The man had become his friend on the months' voyage out to this empty world and if Martin had shaken his head, Shi would have turned back into their ship and everything would have been different.
