Brief Author Bio:

I grew up in a small town near Harrisburg, Pennsylvania where there was very little to do. The library was within a stone's throw of my house and I spent many happy days there reading anything and everything I could get my hands on. It wasn't long before I started to write short stories for myself to help pass the time when I would run out of books between visits.

This will be my second attempt at NaNoWriMo. My attempt in 2008 never really made it off the ground due to health issues that turned (in December) into a diagnosis of an exceptionally rare form of cancer called LAM. I was given 3 months to live by 3 different hospitals and just kept saying "Wrong answer. Next hospital." until I found one who said they could help me. As of my birthday I have lived 6 months past the deadline the first 3 hospitals gave me and my cancer is shrinking more and more every day.

This year's attempt is like a new start to life for me. I've always defined myself as a writer and now that I've seen just how short life can be I'm taking every opportunity that I have to improve myself. I'm kicking cancer's butt, now let's see if I can't do the same with NaNoWriMo!
