Synopsis: Faking It

Evelyn was running, literally, from her life. She couldn't imagine it getting any worse. Then a body fell to the ground next to her and gave her a whole new option. In a fit of possibly the most misguided terror, she steals the woman's identity and new job.

Excerpt: Faking It

For some reason, Evelyn had pictured cubicles when she thought of office buildings. This place did not have cubicles. It did not have cubicles in a way that very gently, but firmly told you that should anyone even suggest cubicles there would be a lynching. Only it would use a nice euphemism for lynching, because that was just such a dirty word, and really who does that anymore? And then it would laugh, but not with it’s eyes, and then when the laugh ended it would stare you down in a way that said, but no, really.
