Excerpt: Copper Moon

It fluttered from branch to branch till it found its target of interest. The Raven stared at the furred thing that had been howling just a second ago. This thing (what we shall call the Beast from now non) was thin but muscular, very tall yet at the same time curiously enough, crouched and small seeming. The Raven stared at this Beast for a minuter longer but soon grew bored. It cawed out, a search caw, too see where the local ravens were what they were doing. At the sound of the caw the Beast turned towards the sound. It's irises were a sharp and piercing bright green. Not quite a green that made one envision a animals green eyes, but more so envision intensity and depth in power. The Raven stared back into the green eyes and did not move a single inch... that is until the beast howled and great spine chilling cry. We now follow this Beast. We only get pieces of images; A claw, a powerful leg, it's deep eyes; as it runs through the woods of the park. The Beast runs out onto the ledge of a rock. With the large bright moon looming behind the ledge we only see the silhouette of this Beast but we can now see that it has very primal legs, a thick furred tail, and somewhat gangly front arms. It raises it's head in the air and sniffs with its canine nose. It's head is wolfen with a furry snout, and sharp pointed ears on the back. The Beast tilted it's head back and release's another Howl.... the loudest we have heard so far. Then the beasts jumps from the ledge, and races back off into the woods. The rest is a blur of images of course, except one in particular. The image of some blood, and small piercing bite, and the slight ripping of flesh. Though this image is small and brief, it sticks. And it is there, that Murphy awoke from her dream. Her deep and powerful bright green eyes snapping open.
