Synopsis: Getting Lucky
A trickster god extorted all the luck of one human's lifetime from the weaver of the destiny of Man. Loki, the trickster, proceeded to sell luck, in small portions, to the highest bidder, or the baddest hitter - whichever would cause the most chaos. The balance of Good and Bad luck was destroyed, and the Mother of the three Fates buried that thread of luck under the ash of Vesuvius in Pompeii. As punishment, she took away the Fates' eyes, leaving them with one to share, and a dread of all things outside of their cave.
1921 years later, Pompeii is being excavated, and the thread finds its way back into Loki's hands... who picks up exactly where he left off.
The weaver can tell the weave of Mans' lives are altering themselves, and the balance is shifting again...
Chance Murphy discovers he is suddenly the unluckiest man alive. He's died TWICE before noon, everything he owns is in probate, his family and girlfriend are in mourning and convinced he is nothing more than a ghost. He would do anything to get his life back and either stop dying or stay dead!
When he happens upon Lachesis, the Weaver, on a her secret quest to regain Chance's thread of luck, she is woefully unprepared for this modern world.
Now all they have to do is team up despite an innate distrust of each other, follow lucky happenings backward to Loki detective style, and somehow get the thread away from the luckiest trickster god in the world. THEN they can fight over who get to keep it.
Get your gun, it's Luck Hunting Season!
