Synopsis:
The year is 1943, and Kate Samuelsson is returning to her grandfather's cottage in Northern Ontario to attend her cousin's funeral - the cousin whose wedding she celebrated three summers ago. With her brother Jonah missing in wartorn Europe, her father's medical practice struggling in Toronto and her family on the brink of crumbling, Kate struggles to hold the pieces of her life together - which becomes even harder when her brother's best friend Luke returns from Europe, haunted by the losses he witnessed.
