Synopsis: The Intermediate

The perfect life is the one you live inside your mind.

Excerpt: The Intermediate

He woke up one morning with a dreary feeling hovering over his chest. He lifted up his head and looked down at his limp body as it lay on the bed. There wasn’t much to be alarmed in there. His heart and body were still intact, but he felt heavy. He didn’t know where the gloomy feeling was coming from so he tried to ward it off by going back to sleep.
He shut his eyes, thinking that if the feeling was dream related then it would fade, and if it were real, then it would persist.
He opened his eyes and tried to rise from his sleeping post but then felt like there was a much heavier feeling seeping into him. He realised that his antics were useless, so he forced himself to wake up He got up from his bed to wash up.
There he was, in the bathroom, staring at his wet face in the mirror, when the feeling faded. He sighed a sigh of relief, and looked down at his feet, took a deep breath. He looked up at the mirror, and there was the feeling once, more but this time it was staring back at him.
