Synopsis: Estyrrlith

History
Estyrrlith is a world made up of four islands: Etania, Etosia, Erynia, and Eninia. Hundreds of years ago Etania, Etosia, and Erynia was home to only humans, while the southernmost island, Eninia, was home to the elves. The elves only difference from humans is the gifts they control. At that time Etania, Etosia, and Erynia was ruled by King Rinia. King Rinia had organized a government and united the three islands, taking Erynia as the royal island. The elves of Eninia invaded Erynia completely taking control of the island. When the elves began invading Etania and Etosia they were defeated on the bridges connecting the islands. The island, Erynia, was a place of ruin and the bridges were never rebuilt. Over the years the elves of Eninia began joining the humans on Etania and Etosia. In present Estyrrlith the majority of the populations on Etania and Etosia are half human, half elf. Only rare individuals show the gifts of the elves.

Present Day
On the upper island Etania, in the very north is a village. Its a small village protected by mountains and forests. Living in the village is Kaia Tordyn. Kaia lives with her parents and her older brother Kade. Kaia's mother is a full blooded elf. Kaia and her brother both have the potential to wield gifts, but neither of them have learned of them yet.

Kade leaves his family to accompany his fiance, Lynnea, to Etosia to see King Ezra. Lynnea is a half-elf with a gift of prophecy and is offering her services to the king. Kade and Lynnea arrive at the castle and while there Lynnea prophecies that Kaia will save Estyrrlith and restore the island Erynia to the kingdoms control. Hearing the prophecy King Ezra assumes that Kaia is meant to be his wife. Kade sends a letter to Kaia telling her to prepare to be escorted to the castle by King Ezra's knight Vaughn. Vaughn is a cousin of Luke, Kade's closest friend. Kade also tells his sister the news that he and Lynnea have married and plan on taking their honeymoon while she travels towards them and will meet her at the castle when she arrives.

The night before Vaughn plans to depart to fetch Kaia the king holds a party for Kade and Lynnea. Towards the end of the night, in a drunken state, Vaughn lets it slip to Lynnea that he plans on kidnapping Kaia and making her his bride before King Ezra can, so that he can take over Estyrrlith. Before Kade and Lynnea can tell the King about Vaughn's plans, Vaughn kidnaps them and sends them to his hideout on the island of Erynia.

While being transported to Vaughn's hideouts Kade and Lynnea combine their gifts to contact Kaia. Kade appears to Kaia as a vision in her dreams telling her to leave the village now before Vaughn can arrive. Kade tells Kaia of Vaughn's plan and details of his trip. Kaia wakes and goes to her parents. Her mother believes it was only a dream, but her father believes her and urges her to follow her brothers instructions. Worried for her safety her father asks Luke to accompany Kaia on her journey to the castle. Kaia and Luke set out immediately by foot towards the castle.
