Synopsis: A Saga for Solomon / The Empyreal Hunt
A Saga for Solomon (83,873)
What do Kvasir Kristjánsson and Solomon Fletcher have in common? Besides the fact that they quite literally have more money than they know what to do with, not much. The two Icelanders decide to squander their fortunes on a glorified robbery scheme that will bring them across the country from the grandeur of Reykjavik to the remote fishing village of Vopnafjörður. But things go awry when the boys are robbed themselves, and left penniless, miles away from home, with nothing but the clothes on their backs.
Working quirky odd-jobs at the annual Harvest Month Festival, Solomon falls head-over-heels for country girl Lilja Valisdottir, who does not quite return the sentiment. Kvasir, on the other hand, stumbles upon a different girl: 5-year-old Sif, who seeks a way back to her home in Reykjavik.
Is Lilja willing to part with life in the Mead Hall and her trusty pepper spray? Does Solomon have what it takes to perform Romeo and Juliet in front of scores of American tourists wearing tights? Will he ever teach Kvasir how to shave like a man? And -- for the love of God -- could Pal please stop hitting on everything that moves?
As they wander around the country, Solomon, Kvasir, Lilja, Sif and (unfortunately) Pal come to realize that the best families are sometimes the most dysfunctional. And in their case, they just might find that family in each other.
The Empyreal Hunt
The Empyreal Hunt is the third book in the Kozmyk Trilogy.
Always-angry Allie, delinquent Fourde, pretentious Varse and misanthropic Singer are the Princes of the Universe. After having completed a series of pointless tasks for their oddball guardian Kozmos, they are told that they’ll be ruling the Universe together come their 16,000th birthdays. Their propensity for finding trouble leads the Princes to accidentally unleashing a horde of Kozmos' angry ex-girlfriends... who have somehow been made immortal. Hell-bent on revenge and becoming Queen of the Universe, Desdemona, Cleopatra and Fyuri attempt to overthrow Koz and the boys.
The Empyreal Hunt begins four millennia later. Varsycles the Vain has deposed Kozmos and taken over the Universe. He’s banished his brothers to live out the rest of their existences on earth, their abilities completely barred. The earth having been levied in a brutal apocalypse, the Princes must survive amidst a dystopian society centered in the Empyreal City, the only hub of intelligent life for miles. While Fourde spends his days tending bars and moving around the countryside, Singer has taken on the challenge of becoming a medical scientist for the City, a way to exercise his knowledge without using his Princely powers. Allie, on the other hand, is unable to settle down and lives on the outskirts of the City, popping up as an anonymous hero when danger threatens.
But when Singer spots Varse on Earth one day, everything changes. The Princes discover that Varse is planning a specie-wide genocide, a twisted kind of hunt to finish up the worthless humans and keep himself entertained. Allie, Fourde and Singer vow to stop him. After 4,000 years of lying low, the Princes are back and must pull together like they've never had to before in order to save the world and to save their own immortal lives.
