Brief Author Bio:

My internal editor is a small, hairless, leathery monkey-like man-creature, with fingers like glass cutters and eyes like shards of obsidian. His name is The Lord and Gentleman Sofer Batterbee and he's generally quite patient with me and much less so with everyone else. He dwells in a small, dim, warm room within an enormous card catalog, accompanied by an impressive computer that runs purely on my own caffeine intake (the computer goes down a lot, sometimes for days at a time).

Last year, I sent him to get his own damned computer juice and locked the door when Lord Batterbee skittered out. Violently tempered to start, this event sent him over the edge for quite some time. When I finally allowed him to read my novel from last year's NaNo, he calmly read the entire manuscript, nodding here and there, giving trivial encouragement. Then he looked at me through those shining black beads and said "If you sent it to the LOLcats circle of hell, they'd send it back rejected with a cease and desist order."

This year, he'll be staying with me. He sometimes wears a wizard's hat.
