Synopsis: The Crakesville Zombie

There’s a bad smell in the city of Crakesville, and it’s not just the coal smog. When criminals turn up dead in unlikely places, questions must be asked, even if hardly anyone really cares what the answers are. John Zombie -- until recently the only goth police detective in the state – is one man who wants answers, even if he has to step over his old partner, a decapitated goat, and a dead mayor in a pentagram to get them.

Detective Helen Rucken has questions, too. Specifically: who is John Zombie? Why is he such a nuisance? And can I arrest him for continually turning up at my crime scenes? John is about to find out that an angry rival who’s a stickler for the rules can be harder to shake than a posse of the living dead.
