Synopsis: Schattenwege / Arcanum

Schattenwege (Ways in the shades)
After years of travelling with his daughter, the prestigious ambassador Kendrick Tymor finally sends her to Iskaran, where she should find a mentor during the guilds' annual fair.
Being who she is, the descendant of one of the richest and most powerful families in the kingdom, Shandra is sure that the best one will pick her as his scholar. Until she realizes that everybody of those other rich brats is far better than her.
Soon the mages, the knights, painters, clerics and orators choose their scholars and Shandra is still left. Not being able to admit the failure to her family, she attends the Annalists' Guild - a bunch of nameless scribblers where she'll hardly be distinguished.

However, things get more than a little spiced up when after a few boring weeks some failed experiment causes the whole Guilds' District to be evacuated - and Shandra gets trapped within the ban spells that should seal the district off.

Enter Dexter, a successful bright hunter who's been following a track for weeks. But the track leads him directly to a huge crater, where if he's not mistaken a few weeks ago magnificent houses and mansions stood ... the Guilds' District.

Arcanum
(Disclaimer: All this belongs to Troika and Sierra ... or whoever owns the rights, I'm only writing it down for fun. The whole story will be an attempt to "novelize" "Arcanum - Of Steamwork an Magick Obscura", a recommenable steampunk-RPG)

And His spirit shall be reborn on wings of fire in hills shrouded in fog. Arch. 5,16

Young novice Virgil realizes that burying his messed up past, dealing with love and fighting the Ancient Evil isn't that easy, especially since nobody (I'm looking at you, Tala!) wants to follow the prophecy.
When the first airship in history crashes on its maiden trip through the attack of orcs in flying machines, Virgil finds the only survivor and considers her the Living One, the resurrection of his god. His all-knowing mentor is disappeared (surprise!) and all they got is a ring from a dying gnome in the crash site, so he begins to investigate.

Tala, however, loses her best friend in the crash and that strangely talking man in a cowl doesn't make anything better. Being on her way to an arranged marriage in Tarant, she now decides to do her best in avoiding that city, much to Virgil's displeasure.
