Excerpt: Lessons From The Past

Nine am. It seems like just an average hour, one with no particular significance. On any other day that would be so. However, not on this seemingly static day. Today was the start of the historical recollection, a set period of time when all the students would gather to learn the importance of history. This is the story of those moments when humanity sets itself apart from all other life. Today at nine, the computers warmed up around the walls as normal and the rooms started to glow with the light setting programmed for that time of day. The front doors to the edifice opened up for the passage of the students.
