Clever and Witty Title
an excerpt
As an effort of Project Narrowgap to ensure that the the time period that will be known as “The Schism” remains restricted to only 2.794 millennia, this recording and many others were calculated to exit from the Time Paths and arrive in the era that will be key in preventing The Schism from lasting the predicted thirty millennia it should have, reducing The Schism to less than ten percent of the time it could have occupied, and giving a push to the ancestors of those that will face the decisions to make this reduction. The target time period is known to natives of itself as the late Twentieth Century and / or the early Twenty-First Century. Due to the knowledge that the target time period has no holographic technology and only rudimentary video technology, these recordings will be in text-only format. Project Narrowgap does not send audio formatted records due to no longer being able to accurately produce the linguistic phonemes required to speak the archaic languages. These events have been painstakingly translated into the most versatile language of the target time period so that you may be enlightened and the time of retrograde non-advancement and de-evolution of technology will be kept to the minimum stated above. In cases where there is or was no lingual congruency that I was able to provide to them, an approximation that will strike a chord with the Twenty-First Century mindset was substituted.
I am known in what to you would be the Fifty-Second Century as simply, “The Relic,” or on formal occasions, “Risk's Relic.” I have had many names given to me by those I enhance over the centuries, but this name suits me as well as any. I am sentient, but not a living being. This will be explained later in my narrative. Suffice it to say at this time that my origins are not known, even to me. I became aware and sentient in the time period that is known to you as the Eighth Century Be Ce.
These recordings will be provide in chronographic order, and will cover topics of the Fifty-Second Century ranging from teenage social activities to sciences, to biographies of notable individuals and even entertainment files. To the scientists that these will inevitably be shared with, yes, it is possible to send items through time, though it is not possible even in the Fifty-Second Century to send anything living through and expect survivability. Yes, the theories about paradoxical occurrences were mostly true. Yes, we weighed and measured the impact of this decision before embarking on fundraising and preparations for Project Narrowgap. The best and brightest of our chronology science experts have determined that aside from the rather significant impact of being able to reduce an immensely long-lasting “Dark Age” by more than ninety percent, there really is little to no impact from paradox from your era. You're simply not important enough to leave a mark on the history of Earth, also known as Terra to us and to many of the prophets of your time, other than as a rather vivid point that was the beginning of the light before the descent into a long shadow. Some of those prophets writings began what were religious movements in the Fifty-Second Century, and eventually led to some of our greatest achievements. These will also be discussed later.
Any events that I did not personally experience are related as an extrapolation of the information provided to me cross-referenced with the original source's propensity for truth telling.
'Target time period' will henceforth be referred to as, 'the Era,' and 'the Fifty-Second Century' as, 'the Present.' End of introductory recording.
