Valley of Shadows
an excerpt
Regina was tootaling toward home - again - with Teddie nose- whistling in the back. He wanted to go to bed. Regina was doing the best she could to get him there but events that evening were working against her. She got to the Co-Op but they had run out of the brand of coffee she usually bought. That would have been fine; Regina was willing to try a substitute - she couldn't tell Ethiopian from Guatamalen from Tanzanian but the Guatamalen was Jason's favorite, he sure could tell the difference. He was more than likely going to be in town sometime over the next couple of weeks and that was the only brand he liked. So she trucked on over to Carlisle and Indian School to Wild Oats or Whole Foods or whatever name brand it was going by these days on a Guatamalen whole bean search. Fortunately they had it, they also had specials on Rainforest Crunch (Regina loved that cereal), vitamins (Regina was very conscious of her health these days), and an herbal sleep aid (she was prone to insomnia and her prescripton had run out she didn't want to answer any questions from her doctor). Then she met a co-worker in front of the store and they starting talking - it turned into a whole thing.
