Brief Author Bio: This is the first time I've joined, but I've already written nine original stories. Nano will help me getting No. 10th out of my system. I've written fanfiction for eight years, but I find original stories more rewarding, if more challenging. I read too much in English, and therefore I write in English. My Spanish stories would sound like translated English anyway... |

Excerpt: Black Feathers
He frowned, and then looked up. She looked up with him, seeing only roof. “Are you thinking what I think you’re thinking?” she said with despair. Could he actually go through the roof? He turned to look at the door, fear coming back to his face. She turned too, and this time she did see something. Like the door was losing its color, like the walls were darker. The air was suddenly cold again, even if she could still see the orange hue from the bedroom’s fire all the way here. Whatever these Shadows were, they were definitely coming.
And she definitely didn’t want to be up close and personal with them.
“I’ll try to be fast,” he simply said as he grabbed her once again. His wings bent down with his knees, and Erin actually grabbed him strong enough to leave bruises of her own. She wanted to see this, a part of her knew, but she was also scared. She had no qualms with heights, but if she went dizzy and wanted to throw up, it wouldn’t be nice.
Why did she think such things in moments like this?
It didn't really matter. The pull she felt as he actually flexed his wings down was way stronger than she'd expected. Even if the roof had looked like some good 12 feet from the ground, she thought they were going to crash.
