Excerpt:
A lone white curtain hung in one of the upstairs windows, blowing in and out with the wind – but, no, it was not moving with the wind. It was in fact moving peculiarly, up and down, side to side. Maddie stared at it in bewilderment. Then she blinked, and the curtain was gone. She stood there for a moment, staring at the now vacant window in disbelief. Then a clinking sound stirred her out of her reverie…and a pain in her right foot…she shook her head and looked down. She had dropped the box of china.
