Synopsis: Want to make enemies?
Her life had never been normal. With family of... many members living under one roof, it could hardly be called normal.
First, there was her close family: mother, father, 12-year old sister and 10 year old brother and a baby. Mother was a bigger woman with no understanding of the word shame what so ever. She changed practically under everybody’s eyes who happened to be in the room. Her father was a TV junky- his black head was always turned towards the machine. He was either sleep or watching TV. That didn’t mean he didn’t do anything else or he didn’t take part in raising the kids, but any outsider would have guesses so nevertheless.
Then there were the siblings. Her 12-year old grown up sister was almost like a copy cat of her looks. They went in the same school and though it’s supposed to flatter her, she is desperately searching her some other thing to copy, because it’s not easy when some 12 year old is acting and looking exactly like 17-year old. She did have her natural hair though – mom didn’t like the idea of them coloring them – and that meant she was dark blond while her sister had black hair. To tell you the truth, they were very different, but looking from far, the hairdue and costume choice could have fooled you. That annoyed her a lot – at least inside the schoolhouse she wanted to be normal and her sister took the opportunity away.
Her brother was smart beyond meaning. As long as the knowledge related anyway to some technical gadget. His room was on the second floor, on the other side of the house while her and her sister’s was “go through living room, through parent’s bedroom, turn left and there you have it!” sort of place. Easier and much faster way was “go straight ahead until the door and knock.” Back to her brother. Dark short hair, short to his age, it was compensated with mouth that never closed and he managed to have half of the elementary school in his birthday list. Plus some from older classes. Which never was anything good, but nobody bothered themselves with it – as long as they were kept out of whatever he was making up there.
Baby... baby... well, there was a baby. What age? God knows. What gender? Mom knows? Where the brat came from, no one knew. It wasn’t theirs. But it was there one day and they raised it now.
That would make the babe also not close family, but well, here’s the rest of not so close family: Father’s sister, aunt, with her 16-year old daughter, grandfather’s ghost, two dogs, brother’s two friends and who other ever happened to be in the house. Oh, there was a poltergeist, but he kept mostly to himself after discovering where he had damned himself in.
Aunt was here because her bad husband had kicked her out of their home and married someone else. She was a cheerful horizontally tall woman with dark hair as most of us, and she always knew what to do when it came to mundane world. Her apartment was full of her stuff, mostly laundry drying here and there and sparkly stuff.
Her daughter was a quiet girl, but very adorable and everybody loved here. She like had this aura around here that said Saint in the house! She had the same hair cut – aunt’s idea of starting a fashion of Japanese ghost girls – only she was stark blond and she looked like an angel. She was sick though. They didn’t know, what was wrong with her, but she spent alot upstairs in bed and then it was up to her to visit her often and spill the little gossip. She liked it though – it kept her away from downstairs mess quite often.
Grandpa’s ghost. One really annoying creature everybody saw, yet still knew was a ghost. Five years he had crowded the house with other ghost coming and going. He was some sortie of comedian and the tragedy of his life was his son knew he was dead and he tryed to convince him in it after his death! By showing up near him face and pulling his necktie, so it flew out like confetti circles in party. Ugly thing to watch, but dad had even worse thing – he had one made for him too, out of the parts of wrist watch. So they sat there together, showing each other the finger with their ties.
The rest of the punch was whoever happened to come. The little poltergeist kept to himself so much they hardly noticed it around, except when they started searching if he still was there or moved on and to keep the house intact he had to show marks of his existence. Why he kept to himself? Because he liked order and what that house hold lacked the most? ORDER!
So, this was their little household full of life and disorder. And that’s where soon was added a new face, who didn’t add much to the family, but didn’t take anything away either.
