Coward, you think. You're not afraid. You're not afraid of anything. You're PD Hart, and you're a badass.

You're not the kind of person who picks up a choose your own adventure novel and then tosses it aside because the second person narrator is not like you in some way: I'm not a woman, you say, so I can't identify with the protagonist. I wouldn't fire a laser rifle at a renegade chimpanzee, so I am not the "you" in the story, you say!

But you, PD Hart, you are not like that.
