Brief Author Bio: I'm a novel and short story author with a passion for YA speculative fiction. I've published two short stories, won a couple Honorable Mentions from Writers of the Future, and done a few other professional-writerly things that you can see on my website if you care to. This past summer I attended Clarion West Writers Workshop, an insane experience of nothing but writing and critiquing for 6 weeks. But now I'm back to writing in the real world, and trying to write with actual obligations to things besides the page. Bring it on, NaNo, bring it on! |

Synopsis: Water Speaker
Cover art by Annie_grae
April Herring has known since childhood that she wants to play professional diball, an intense magic sport similar to soccer. She's even got an advantage that most other players only dream about – her magic manifested at the young age of five.
By age seventeen, she's found a small company sponsor, won a majority of her beginner's matches, and managed to collect about half a liter of water that will actually obey her magic's commands. Her weakness, however, lies in doubles matches. The sign language that served April so well at home seems to be a foreign concept to any of her assigned partners. That is, until Travis.
