Synopsis: Life in a Way
A harrowing crime in the city of Wednesdale opens up more than Detective Constable Cole Ruddock could ever have imagined.
Excerpt: Life in a Way
Ruddock couldn’t take his eyes off the dead body decomposing in front of him. He was repulsed by the cold, grey flesh of the victim. Like a motorway car crash you slow down to look at, he was transfixed by it. It was that inbred curiosity in all of us that needs to know the morbid – the grotesque – no matter how sickening it makes us. There was something more disturbing that usual about this particular victim. Ruddock’s eyes were fixed on a series of numbers cut into the victim’s back – 11365.
